Postage Rates in Australia 2022

The base postage rate in Australia has recently changed from 75c to $1.00. The new rates are effective from 30 March 2020. These are published in the Commonwealth Gazette. If you want to see the current rates, please visit Australia Post's website. This page is regularly updated with changes, including discounts on domestic and international parcels and stamps. You can also find handy checklists for mailing different items. In Australia, the base price is the same for all letter types, so you will save money on stamps.

In August, Australia Post announced that it was increasing the cost of stamps and envelopes. A basic letter will now cost $1.10, while a letter between 125 and 250 grams will cost $2.30. The issue paper was released for comment on 23 August 2019, and submissions closed on 13 September. The ACCC has not objected to these price increases, so you should also check it out before you buy any postage stamps.

If you are shipping to Australia, be aware that the cost of postage will increase. This increase will make it harder for you to send expensive postcards or letters to your friends and family. Regular mail may take up to six business days to arrive in Australia. Priority mail, however, will arrive in one to four business days. It will cost an additional 50 cents per letter. The new rates apply to mail sent to Australia.
